Sometime when Trace was a toddler, we decided to have him participate in a rewards program in order to help him have a new type of incentive to behave and generally do things that his parents and others would like him to do. I had grand plans to create a poster with a grid, gold star stickers and the like. Since I never got around to that, we opted for the simpler option of drawing squares on a white board and giving Trace an "X" inside each square for good behavior and once he accrued a set number of squares, (usually 4-8) he gets to choose a prize from the "square prize drawer". One night Daddy let him take an earned square prize to his room to set on his nightstand when he went to bed, since he earned it when we didn't have time to put it together. It was a Lego set and Kevin likes to put those together with him when they have time to complete the piece. I went to check on him before I went to bed and found this....such a cute kid!
