Rolling and Coasting

This year for our anniversary, Kevin and I decided that the person we want to spend time with the most is each other and our fast-growing son. So we decided to drive to Lagoon in Northern Utah with our trailer and spend the weekend there playing and enjoying the company of each other. Since we were at the water park and riding roller coasters, I didn't take many photos, but we had a great time! Also, because it was our anniversary and Kevin was tired of me asking, he let us dress up and take an old time photo at the photo booth. I love Trace's face! This kid is made for modeling and acting! There was one shot that had him looking down the barrel of the gun with a surprised face, but we didn't get that one, this one was just too cute to pass up. I sure love that kid, he makes me laugh.

The wink, the brim grab, the gun, no one gave this kid any instruction. Amazing!

I told my Dad we were going to Lagoon and taking the trailer and he said; "Why? I thought you got that thing for bear protection. There shouldn't be any bears in Lagoon." Ha! We found a bear in Lagoon Dad!

Both boys would NOT ride this with me, oh well, maybe next time.....

Surprise at the Party

Trace got invited to a birthday party for a boy named Isaac turning 9 that goes to his same daycare. It was being held at a place called Classic Skating Center. They have roller skating, water slides and bounce houses for kids to play in. Definitely a popular birthday party spot! Trace said that he and Isaac were good friends and that he wanted to go to the party. We RSVP'd and let them know we were coming, Trace picked out a Lego gift for him and off we went on a Saturday afternoon. When we got there, two surprising things happened. 1) Trace was the ONLY kid who showed up to the party! The young man had several family members that were adults there, but absolutely NO kids other than Trace showed up. I was glad Trace decided to go, Isaac seemed really happy that he came. 2) We were looking around for the party group and I heard my name being called. Turns out, Fischer had a birthday party for a boy he knew there at the same time! So Trace got to play with his cousins a bit after the party was over and before we had to leave. It was a great surprise!

Rolling with it

Trace is getting so good with his roller skates! If I didn't know better, I'd think that he got the same genes that Kevin has that give him the ability to skate so good naturally. Since the weather is unpredictable, he is allowed to skate around the house inside. One day, Kevin decided to join him and pretty soon we had both boys in this house zooming around and playing tag. Looks like we're a roller skating family for sure.

Hunting for Treasure

Since Trace is learning in school about the different values of coins and money. I thought it would be fun to spend part of a Saturday going around to various garage sales and seeing what we might find. Trace had $10.00 to spend and I helped him figure out if he had enough to buy something and/or if he would get any change. He spent the day asking; "If I get this, will I get any re-change?" I thought it was cute he called it "re-change" without any prompting or direction from me. He found a Halloween decoration he liked, puzzles, star wars spaceships and even a pizza hat. I had a great time watching him decide what he liked or didn't like. He was patient if I was just looking at stuff and he couldn't see anything he liked, he was kind to the people selling their wares and he was so excited to show Dad what he ended up with when the day was through.

Everyone loves a parade

Since Kevin usually has to work on the 4th of July, we usually plan to go see the Sandy City parade that happens later in the afternoon/early evening and stay for the fireworks that they put on around 10pm. This year, most of Trace's cousins that we see the parade with were out of town doing other things, so we just decided to go it alone. I talked to Tamara earlier in the day and found out that her and Adam were planning to attend the parade as well, so we decided to meet up. We watched the parade and enjoyed the food and music until the fireworks show started. It was a nice celebration and we all had a good time.

Close but no cigar

Trace and Raven were running around the house playing and Trace turned toward Raven quickly resulting in a hard hit to the groin for the boy. Trace doubled over and yelled; "Oh! My cuticles! Ow!"....Close buddy, close
