Well, it was bound to happen, Trace made it through the 1st grade! I was able to leave work a little early and be there as they ended the day with a remembrance video from the year and a celebration. The end of this year signals the end of Trace being taught by the amazing Mrs. Goodwater. She created a video with memories from the year and really made the last two years great for Trace. She's moving to an administration position with the state and the whole school will really miss her.
As we were leaving for the day, I asked if Trace wanted his picture taken with any of his friends and he said he wanted to get a picture with Sophie, his closest friend that is a girl and "a friend that he made at the office". We tracked down the woman at the front office that he calls his "friend" and she was really touched that he wanted a picture with her! I didn't even catch her name, but Trace was happy to have the photo. He's so charming that he's just as comfortable making friends with adults as he is as kids. I bet there are great things in store for this kid's future!
