Florida Vacation Day 5

The next day we went to the park of all parks; The Magic Kingdom! It was cool to see some of the same rides and attractions that we've seen before at California, but done in a different way for Florida. We saw lots of our favorites and some new things too.

One of the first rides we went on was the Buzz Light-year Ride, Trace LOVED it!

Nothing like a game where you get to team up with your Dad!

Trace got into a bit of trouble for a minute, they have a unique form of punishment
We stumbled across a mid-day show in front of the Cinderella castle, a great spot to see all our favorites!

Another delicious treat!
We saw "Stich" from Lilo and Stich, and decided to wait in line for some pictures. It was a bit of a long wait, but Trace seemed glad we waited when it was over.

Saw the Muppets appearing for a rousting debate. Complete with humor and corny jokes.
We didn't stick around for the traditional fireworks, but we'd seen them in California and the boys both decided they'd rather head out to a dinner show at another hotel instead. I got some pictures of the fireworks, so I included them here just for fun.

At the end of the day, we headed to a musical revue at one of the local hotels. It is very similar to the Desert Star Theatre here in Salt Lake. It was called the "Hoop Dee Do Review" and held at a western barn-type building. When we arrived, most of the large room was already full. The hostess greeted us, grabbed our reservation and lead us through the crowd to the very FRONT ROW!! We were right next to the piano and banjo player! So close that I could smell their cologne! They brought out chicken and ribs for us to eat with all the "fixin's". Shortly before the show began, one of the actors came out and asked Trace how old he was. When he replied; "Eight", she said she was looking for an 8 year old to star in the show! Trace wasn't shy or hesitant, he marched right up the stairs and went backstage to get his costume on and get ready. When the play began, there was the introduction of the "ranger" and out he came! He helped fight the bad guys, tied them up and even got a kiss from the girl he rescued! (Which he promptly wiped off) It was so fun! I was having such a good time cheering clapping for Trace, I didn't take that many photos, but afterwards, the professional photographer came up and gave us the code to access the photos he took. Disney saves the day again!

Afterwards, on the bus ride back to the hotel, both Kevin and Trace fell asleep! Long but fun-filled day!

Florida Vacation Day 4

The next day we headed to Epcot. Epcot is the part of Disney World that contains different areas for lots of different countries and explores the culture for each one. You can get food, entertainment and buildings that emulate countries like; Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Italy, Japan, Morocco, France, UK and the US. We enjoyed all different kinds of fantastic food and even stopped to check out some of the street performers!

We stopped at a spot in the "Italy" section of the park, where you could create and race your own car before riding on the super fast car-like ride called "Test Track". I went with the boys and helped create their car, but bailed out of line just before they boarded the ride. After they exited the ride, there was an area where you could see your car and how it compared to real-life designed cars. You could compare the speed, handling and even the effect the car would have on the environment.
More cool technology!

Trace is so small you can't even see him in the car!

This is the machine that you could use to put your created car up against other created cars.
Kevin's car beat both Trace and mine quite easily.

All throughout the parks, I'd been trying to get Trace to get his picture taken with a Princess. He complained and whined about how girls were yucky (except Mom) and he didn't want to. I finally got him to agree to get his picture taken with "Joy" and "Sadness" from the movie "Inside Out" (both girls) ONLY if I agreed to wait in the line to see one of his favorites; "Baymax" from "Big Hero 6". Since I really like "Baymax" too, it was an okay deal for me! I really liked how they had the waiting areas for both characters inside a climate-controlled room. It was a much-needed break from the sun and heat. Again, Disney is so brilliant!

For dinner we went to a place called the "Coral Reef Restaurant". It is a restaurant attached to an aquarium! You get to watch the aquatic creatures swim and play while you eat. (Often while eating their former ocean cohabitants) It was a really good meal in a really cool environment. We saw coral, fish, sharks, stingrays, and a even a couple sea turtles!
