Mountain Valley RV Resort Trip...Again

On the spur of the moment, my siblings and I decided to take a quick weekend trip back to our favorite RV Resort in Heber City, Utah. We decided to bring Fischer along so that Trace would have someone to play with. Tamara, Adam and Brinkley came in one of Adams "Sprinter" vans, Rob and Ivanna and Liam had just bought a small trailer similar to our first one and they wanted to try it out. So the 9 of us enjoyed smores, the pool, and just being together. Tamara made the comment that we haven't been on a vacation without Mom and Dad since we all moved out. Way overdue in my book! We met up with Ivanna's brother, Noah and his daughter and had a nice meal at a locally owned Heber restaurant called the "Spin Café". In addition to delicious food, they also made homemade gelato....of course, we had to try some!
On Saturday, we took the boys to the Heber cheese factory in the hopes of getting the boys a tasty treat, but when we drove over there, we discovered they were having a baby animal petting farm with all different kinds of fun activities! We churned our own butter, got to hold baby chicks, pet and snuggled with baby cows, ponies, goats, piglets, rabbits and all kinds of farm animals. Even ended the visit with the treat we came for, ice cream!

Raven and the Ball

Raven is turning out to be such a good girl! She no longer stays in her kennel during the day, she has free room of the house now when we leave and she does just great! The other day she was sitting by the buffet whining and whining. I filled her water, I filled her food, I asked if she wanted to go outside, nothing. FINALLY, I went over and moved the buffet, only to find her small, spikey ball with a squeaker inside. She played with it all night and even when she went to bed, she tucked it into her bed and snuggled right up to it. So cute, I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Spring Break

April 1st for us this year was, of course, April Fool's Day, Easter Day, the beginning of Trace's spring break and the first day of our vacation/camping trip to Heber City. We decided to head out for a couple days and stay at an RV resort there. Since my work turned out to be a bit busier than expected, we invited cousin Boston to come along and play with Trace while I went to work for the later part of the week. I just woke up each day and got ready in the bathrooms at the resort and drove down the canyon to work and back at the end of the day. The boys had a pretty good time in my absence: They played horseshoes, ping pong and video games, with remote control cars and their scooters, drew with sidewalk chalk, watched movies and went to the cheese factory for some mid-day treats. They are such good friends and have a good time together. I brought with me different crafts and projects to do with the boys each night to give Kevin a break and spend some time with them myself. We first dyed Easter eggs and put cute faces on them, then we made monsters out of clay and I left airplanes for them to play with.

New Easter Suit!

The full rig!

The pool was VERY cold! Only Trace was brave enough to venture into the water.

Must warm up.....trying the sidewalk

This is Trace's "Ninja"

I decided to make one too!
