Full of Fun

September 8th was a really busy day for us! First thing in the morning, Trace and I took Raven to the Alta Canyon Resort pool that they let dogs swim in just before they shut it down. We'd taken Ginger there in the past and she'd had hours of fun jumping in the water and catching balls etc. Well, not the same experience with Raven. She flat out REFUSED to go in the water. We both threw her favorite balls, toys and everything we could think of into the water and basically, we were the only ones that got wet. She did have a good time running around the surrounding concrete and grass area with the other dogs, but hardly worth the entry fee to watch her run around and avoid the water like the plague.

After the debacle at the pool, Trace and I decided to have a little fun. He took out his electric scooter that he got for his birthday and I took advantage of the "rent by the minute" scooters and we went riding around a local elementary school. When his scooter ran out of battery, we both fit on the one I had and we had even more fun! Another Mom was there with her little one and
I asked if she would take a picture of us to remember the day. It was a lot of fun,
we decided we'll have to do it again sometime.

Trace got cowboy boots from my parents for Christmas and he was looking for any excuse to wear them. In fact, they got him the boots and a belt with a large belt buckle. He put on both and a black tee shirt and asked me to take his picture to show his Papa how much he looked like a "real cowboy".

To end the day, we had tickets to a local demolition derby. We had never been to one before and we were lucky enough to get tickets on the front row. Great idea when buying tickets, bad idea to wear white and sit on the front row. The cars were crazy and threw up tons of dirt! It was pretty crazy to watch all the action and there were some funny parts, but I think we're good for a while. Next time I'll be sure to bring a poncho.
