Halloween

It's starting to look like Halloween is bigger in our house than Christmas or any other holiday. Kevin and Trace get so involved and try to ensure that their costumes are just right, as authentic as can be and of the utmost quality and craftmanship. Because of this, we end up ordering custom-made costumes for each of us, sending in our measurements to be sure that they fit exactly as they should. This year, Trace wanted to portray yet another "bad guy" from the "Guardians of the Galaxy" named "Yondu". Because of that, Kevin decided to be another character from the movie named "Drax" and I was persuaded to be "Gamora". The thing I didn't not realize at the time is that all three of those characters have different colored skin, which meant face paint for all of us. It sounds like an okay idea until you try to put it on and not get it all over your clothes, eyes, and everything you touch. Kevin ordered Trace's costume online and even found someone to make a "fin" to go on top of Trace's helmet with a 3D printer, it turned out perfect! We carved pumpkins with the whole family the day before the holiday and had both Shaunasee's and Lindsay's kids go with us for Trick-or-Treating. We also had our annual open house at my work and after Halloween we let the kids smash our jack-o-lanterns and even let Raven eat some of the pieces. (Who knew pumpkin was good for dogs?) All in all, a great holiday season, looking forward to next year!

Chipman's are in the house!

Lindsay and PJ Chipman sold their house about 6 months ago, moved to Craig, Colorado for a new job of PJ's at their local hospital. Then, they ended up letting PJ go and they decided to move back to Utah. Since they had sold their home here before they left, Kevin's Mom asked if they would want to ask us to live in our basement until they find a more permanent place to reside. Lindsay approached Kevin about the idea and since we lived with them for about 9 weeks before we bought our current home, we decided it would be kind of us to return the favor. In preparation for move-in day, I cleared out some space in the storage room for use as a "pantry" and moved the exercise equipment out of the second bedroom. Kevin had RC Willey deliver a bunk bed we bought for them to use and the couches and floors were all cleaned and ready for the family of 5 to join us. Looking forward to some fun adventures while they're here!

Lagoon with Levi

One of my clients was nice enough to send me 4 free entrance tickets to our local amusement park, Lagoon. Since there is just the three of us, we told Trace he could invite a friend. He was missing Levi since he spent all summer with him and hadn't seen him since school started, so he chose to bring him along. We went during the boys "fall break" and it turned out to be the perfect time to go; the weather was perfect, the lines were short and the fun was had. Trace was really scared to go on a couple of roller coasters, but Levi and I were able to talk him into them. Kevin avoided all of them because of his back trouble and as the day went on, Trace got braver and braver. By the end of the day, they were riding the old, wooden roller coaster getting off, and getting right back in line to ride again. We stayed until the park closed and drove two sleepy but happy boys home.
