I think I was more excited for 4th grade this year than Trace was! I was so excited to have school start on any day that was NOT his birthday, I could hardly contain myself! He was just excited to get back to seeing his friends and to "hang out". He got a new backpack after using the one before for two years and I think this may be one of my last years of being able to choose his clothes....he's getting picky picky! Still looks super studly though, if I do say so myself.......

At the beginning of summer, Trace took a page out of Cam and Boston's playbook and asked what he could earn if he didn't drink soda for the whole summer. At the time it seemed like an impossible goal and I was feeling pretty cocky so I told him he'd get $50 if he could go the whole summer without drinking a single soda at home or anywhere else. I also bet him that if I could go the whole summer without eating pizza, I'd get $50 and if one of us lost, the other one would get the other's $50 prize. Well, on July 24th, Trace stayed blissfully silent as I downed an entire "flatbread" which we decided (with the help of many other opinions) that it DID qualify as pizza. So, with my $50 going to him, he stayed true and made it the whole summer, so after school on the first day, his Dad took him to the gas station and he purchased two sodas and tried to drink them at the same time! (Photo might have been staged to rub it in to his Mom that she lost) Then, he got $100 in cash...which his Dad thought was "way too much" for a 10 year old to have.
