A Visit to Alabama Part Four

The next day of adventure in the South, we visited the Huntsville Botanical Gardens. It was a beautiful place with large open areas, a beautiful coy pond and benches to sit on and enjoy the view. The heat was overwhelming for our "dry-heat" group...we just moved slowly and wiped the sweat from our faces periodically. Towards the end of our visit we saw the butterfly house and got some really neat pictures of huge butterflies. Even though the weather was really hot, we had a nice time.

Cute little scarecrow!

Watching the huge coy fish swim by

The fish would actually come up to Trace's stick and poke at it. I was wondering if people feed the fish here.

I love this photo! I used it in my annual calendar. Such a cool community art project!

Trace chased a squirrel half way through the park.

Lego wall!

This did say "Yippee" until the first letter fell off.

My Dad sat down on the grass and the ducks all came rushing over to him!

Then they did the same thing to Trace when he sat down!

When we returned back to Nanny's Trace asked Nanny to read him another story.
Such a sweet kid, he really likes his Nanny!
