Hogle Zoo

Since I was still recovering from my back surgery, but also really depressed and badly in need of some fresh air and new scenery, we decided to take advantage of Kevin being off work on a Saturday and make our annual visit to the Hogle Zoo. I got to rent one of those motorized scooters to help me get around since walking is still hard. It worked really well! The zoo had recently lost their Polar Bear to illness and gotten two young replacement bears, so we wanted to check them out and they've done a lot of upgrades and habitat improvements to we wanted to see what the newest developments were. We got to see the Polar Bears swimming and getting used to their new environment, the Grizzly Bears and Elephants were active too. All in all, a really nice day spent together as a family and a really good break from the monotony of surgery recovery.

See Jack Skellington behind Trace?

The baby orangutan was so cute!

Because Trace is spoiled, he got a stuffed Lemur to take home. Trace buckled him in the car to be safe!
