I've noticed a pattern happening over the last few years.....when I was recovering from my surgery to remove cancer, Kevin picked me up from the hospital in a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Then, when I had my foot surgery to remove a bunion later that same year, he showed up with a new Acura RDX crossover vehicle to add to our garage. This time, when I was recovering from back surgery, he just HAPPENED to find a great deal on a much anticipated purchase of a Dodge Ram 1500 Truck! I swear, I can't afford to get any more surgeries because of the car payments that ensue shortly thereafter!
This truck is really nice though. We want to buy a new, larger trailer someday since we know that we like camping that way now and the few times we've borrowed Kevin's parents' truck, we've really enjoyed how they drive, the indoor amenities and the capabilities of a truck.
When this better-than-expected deal came along, we just felt like we couldn't pass it up, so we bought the truck, but because Kevin is spoiled, we immediately put about $1,000 into accessories for said truck. We HAD to add the running boards so I could get in. We HAD to add the remote start so that he isn't cold when entering the truck after a long work day. We HAD to add the padding for the bed liner so that items can slide in and out easier. We HAD to add the cover to the truck bed so that we can lock it and protect our belongings. (Okay, I have to admit, I was fully on board with that one) All in all, it's a really nice truck and I feel very spoiled to have such a nice vehicle. Now if I can only convince Kevin to let me DRIVE it......
