Fire Trucks

Rob and Ivanna's little boy, Liam, is fascinated with all things Fire Trucks. For his 4th birthday, his Mom arranged to take him and all of us to their local fire station for a visit and to see the fire trucks up close. It was really nice of them to do it, and fun to see the inside of where the first responders hang out as they wait for calls to come in. They have pretty nice digs that include a state-of-the-art kitchen, reclining lounge chairs for everyone around a huge TV and all kinds of fancy automation that make it easier to do what they need to do. It was nice to see that when they have to be away from their families, they should at least be able to be comfortable. One firefighter took us into the garage to show us the ambulance and fire truck housed there and it was amazing how much technology they have inside and around them. I haven't ever had to be in the back of an ambulance, thank heaven, so it was neat to see inside without NEEDING the ambulance. Then, the fire fighter asked if we'd like to take a ride in the truck! What? Ivanna and Liam rode up front, Rob stayed behind to get video and Trace hopped in the back section near the ladders. As the truck was pulling away and I was waving to Trace, I looked around for Kevin....he was in the truck too! He just hopped in also so he could say he had ridden in a fire truck once in his life. The firefighter took the truck around the block and even turned on the siren, it was truly a cool thing to be a part of. Happy Birthday little Fire Dude!
